The question makes sense, ha? But don’t they say that travelling is the only thing you buy that makes you richer? That’s at least how I feel about it. Here are my #1 tips for saving up money to go and travel the world.
1. Do you really need all these things?
The older you get, the more stuff piles up in your house. Since I discovered my passion for travelling, I was surprised to find out that I actually don’t need many things to be happy. Knowing this, I have started selling or donating many of my things – be it clothes or even furniture. Let me tell you, it is a liberating feeling.
2. Do you really need this coffee?
I am not telling you to sacrifice everything – spoiling yourself is always great for the soul. But I have realized that with every coffee that I don’t buy or every shopping spree that I resist, I can invest in something that makes me so much happier. Every cent that I save through limiting myself in daily life goes to my travel budget for the next big trip!
3. PLAN your trip.
No, don’t plan every little step you’re going to take. You know me, travelling is about getting lost and discovering little quirks. But the better you estimate your expenses beforehand, the more you can let loose during your trip and indulge in whatever surrounds you.
I am sure there are many more ways to save up a budget for your next big trip! What are yours?
